Breeding Experience
Be Aware

What: Breeding your Rottie
When: 18 MONTHS OF AGE (new PRCI rule, effective Jan. 2007)
Where: Adequate Shelter
Why: SIMPLY TO IMPROVE THE BREED

I’m a young breeder; my very first breeding moment came in the Fourth of July, 2005.

My rott gave birth at my bed, and it was not pleasant! I have to deal with the stench of puppy goo for almost 3 days straight. It was very hard to let the smell die down on its own. But of course, my overwhelming joy that my rott is giving birth knocks out all negative things…

I was very happy, and that is it!

Looking at 10 healthy pups, feels like Christmas!

Oh yes, it was tiring… but in that moment, I know, and I feel that I have accomplished something.

The joy was overpowering.

The greatest thing you’ll ever experience in having a female dog [Term: Bitch] is to experience the joy of the “Giving Birth Process”.

It feels like the highest point of joy in your life, especially when all the pups that came out are all healthy and normal. But the pain of loosing a pup can be very devastating. [Where in my case, haven’t happened yet]
